Join Hovercode as a full-stack developer

About Hovercode

Hovercode is a QR code generator and analytics platform. We're a small, profitable company that's based in the UK and is trusted by tens of thousands worldwide.

We don't aim to "change the world," but we are in an industry with plenty of shady players who use questionable practices in the name of growth, which we play no part in. Our aim is to provide a good service for people who use QR codes & short links in their business and continue to grow our reputation as a reliable and partner. You can read some of our reviews here.

What we're looking for

We're seeking a full-stack developer (mid level) who's language agnostic and thrives on autonomy. Your primary focus will be improving our existing integrations and creating new ones

  • Improve our Canva integration
  • Create new integrations for Figma, Zapier, Make, Chrome, Bubble, Airtable, and possibly more
  • Eventually, contribute to our core platform (Django & Postgres backend, some Go, HTML with HTMX and Alpinejs & Tailwind frontend)

You're likely a good fit if:

  • You're a quick learner who has experience coding in a bunch of different languages
  • You have a portfolio of simple products you have built and launched yourself (e.g. a Chrome extension)
  • You're a clear communicator and prefer async communication
  • You'd be happy to do some non-coding tasks, e.g. research how Airtable integrations work and come up with some ideas of the types of functionality our integration should include
  • You've already adopted AI in your workflow (e.g. Cursor, Claude)
  • You care more about creating well designed, useful tools vs writing perfect code

Why Hovercode?

  • We're bootstrapped and profitable. No VC pressure or constant pivots - just steady growth and focus on what matters
  • Calm work environment and no unnecessary meetings
  • Work from wherever, whenever. As long as you get stuff done, we're cool with where and when you do it.
  • Got a side project? Awesome. We're open to part-time arrangements and actually encourage you to work on your own projects.
  • Room to grow. As we expand, so do the opportunities. Take on new challenges and shape your role as we evolve.
  • Want to use AI to code? We encourage that!

Job Details

  • Remote, ideally UK-based or UK hours, but flexible
  • Optional co-working in Brighton if you're local
